Chattahoochee Tech Foundation Reverse Raffle A Success

The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation awarded a grand prize total of $5,000 split three ways during its Reverse Raffle, held Thursday, Oct. 27, at the North Metro Campus in Acworth. However, CTC Executive Director of Advancement Melanie Lambert said the Foundation was the true winner of the evening, with the event raising $24,097 for the nonprofit.
“We are thrilled with the successful relaunch of the Reverse Raffle this year,” Lambert said. “It was a fun evening spent with so many friends of Chattahoochee Tech who were all there to support the mission of the Foundation. Their contributions will provide much-needed funds for scholarships and grants, allowing more students to obtain the technical education they need to change their lives and the lives of their family members.”
The winners splitting the prize pool were Tri-State Communications, Inc./WLJA Radio President and CEO Randy Gravley, Cobb EMC Senior VP Electronic Operations Jamey Hulsey and his daughter, Adeline, and CTC Executive Director of Admissions and Records Missy Cusack.
Unlike a traditional raffle, the last ticket drawn by emcees Rep. Paul Battles and Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia Chairman Randy Thompson was deemed the winner. The final five ticket holders were given the opportunity to decide whether to continue with the raffle or split the grand prize five ways.
“I’d like to recognize our event committee chair Susan Stephens, who volunteered countless hours to make this event a success,” Lambert said. “Chattahoochee Tech Foundation looks forward to hosting this event again in 2017 and continuing to partner with friends and businesses to provide financial assistance to Chatt Tech students.”
Designed to support the mission of Chattahoochee Technical College, the Foundation partners with businesses, alumni, and community stakeholders to make higher education an affordable reality for students in the community.
In 2016, the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation awarded $59,100 in scholarship funds, issued $8,426 in emergency grant funds to at-risk students and provided $20,000 in faculty and staff conference grants, allowing Chattahoochee Tech employees to expand their skills and expertise to better serve students.
